Braemar, the latest addition to Fred. Olsen's delightful duo
is no young pretender, she is a thoroughbred; a perfect addition to her
perennially popular sisters.
She entered service just eight years ago to
international acclaim. Many British cruise passengers will remember her
as the Crown Dynasty. Indeed after construction was completed at the
Spanish shipyard of Union Navale de Levante, she visited Liverpool
before setting off for New York, where she was christened by Betty Ford.
With a displacement of just 19,089 tons, Braemar
is slightly smaller than her sister Black Watch, yet almost twice the
size of Black Prince. By choosing this latest addition, we are
continuing the philosophy of offering our passengers the experience of
an English country hotel at sea, rather than stay in an anonymous
American-oriented hotel chain.
