Port Review: Cape Town

Cape Town

Cape Town – One of South Africa’s most visited cities famous for its harbour and well known landmarks. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful city and I and dreaming of returning one day.

Must see – The view of Cape Town from Table Mountain is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. It’s easily accessible via a short 5 minute cable car ride which takes in the most amazing views on the journey up from its rotating floor. The sights when you reach the top are spectacular with various viewing platforms all the way round offering a 360 degree panorama of beautiful Cape Town.

V & A Waterfront – has an excellent selection of cafes and restaurants serving the most amazing foods, Perfect for lunch with a view or in the evening for wonderful sunsets over the marina. There is also a wide range of shopping here including brand names and small boutiques and even a big wheel located between Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.

Food and Drink – Cape Town has a wide variety of food choices too suit all and there are so many restaurants to choose from. The restaurants are stylish and the presentation of the food is stunning. Leaving room for desert is a must as they are some of the best I have ever tasted. If you’re a wine lover a tour of Stellenbosch, just a short journey outside the city, is definitely worthwhile to sample some lovely and very affordable wines. Cape Town is the perfect destination for food and wine lovers.
