Princess Cruises have teamed up with Discovery Communications to create on innovate set of cruise vacation experiences based on hit Discovery Channel shows like Shark Week, Gold Rush, MythBusters and The Big Brain Theory.
‘Shark Week’ at Sea
Shark Week is a popular strand of shows themed around the ocean’s great predators. It first aired in 1988 and has been one of Discovery’s most popular programming blocks ever since. What better place to experience this phenomenon than on a cruise ship? On board, guests will find enriching experiences enhancing their knowledge of sharks and for there more adventurous there’s even swimming with sharks on select cruises.
Discovery Planet & Animal Planet Shore Excursions
There are a range of informative excursions on offer, each with the same blend of entertainment and education that makes Discovery programming so popular. On Science Channel: How It’s Made tours you can learn all about the production process of your favourite foods and drinks including coffee, wine and chocolate. There’s plenty to keep younger travellers amused with engaging programs including MythBusters science activities, panning for gold with Gold Rush and, and learning about the world of nature with Shark week and Animal Planet.
There’s plenty for teens too with the Discovery Green Screen Experience letting them step into virtual worlds and featuring scenes from Ghosthunters, Finding Bigfoot and Fast N’Loud.
The Discovery at Sea program debuts in Winter 2015 on select ships before being expanded across the whole fleet in Spring 2015.
