Happy Easter! Hopefully you have a relaxing weekend ahead of you and can spend some time looking ahead to booking your next cruise vacation. There have been plenty of updates with cruise lines announcing their 2016/17 programmes and new entertainment.
Celebrity Cruises to introduces 18 new shows in 18 months
Celebrity Cruises is changing the way it delivers entertainment and will be delivering 18 new unique shows over the next year and a half. The shows will be designed specifically for Celebrity ships - created in partnership with top creative talents including music video director William Baker, and musical producer and director Steve Anderson. Each of the new shows will combine drama, dance, comedy and music to stunning effect. Elyria will be the first show to launch and will be available on board Celebrity Constellation from April.
MSC ship lengthened as part of refurbishment
MSC Sinfonia emerged from dry dock 24 metres longer following a major renovation project. The ship went in for refurbishments in Genoa, Italy in January and emerged on 27 March 2015 looking far bigger, having been cut in half with a new mid-section fitted in the gap. This is the second MSC ship to be stretched after MSC Armonia underwent the same procedure in November 2014. It is all part of MSC’s 'Renaissance Program' which will see a further two ships lengthened within the next year. The new space increases capacity with the addition of 59 new cabins as well as new public spaces.
MSC to return to Southampton
Speaking of MSC Cruises, the line has announced its 2016/2017 programme with highlights including longer Mediterranean voyages and brand new itineraries exploring Northern Europe. The big news for UK cruisers is that MSC is returning to Southampton with six sailings on board MSC Splendida, including a cruise around the British Isles and a trip taking in destinations on the continental coast. New Fred. Olsen survey reveals the world’s top travel destinations
With millions of people aged over 55% being given access to a significant sum of their pensions due to new legislation, Fred. Olsen have commissioned a poll to discover where people will travel with this new financial freedom. They've also discovered the ‘The World's Top 50 Travel Experiences' based on where people would most like to visit. Top experiences include seeing the Victoria Falls in Africa; seeing the Northern Lights in Norway; and swimming with dolphins in the Caribbean. This all coincides with the release of Fred. Olsen’s 2016/17 cruise programme which offers an incredible array of travel experiences around the world.
