Join Fred. Olsen for their Elvis Cruise 2015

Elvis At 80

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on the 8th of January 1935 and his music would go on to change the world. Today would have been the Presley’s 80th birthday and to celebrate Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced a special cruise to mark the occasion. Outside of a pilgrimage to Memphis, this cruise is the perfect way to celebrate the life if the King.

The Braemar will set sail on 13th April; 2015 for a five night (Blue Suede) cruise departing from Harwich, England to Aarhus in Denmark.  It’s the perfect cruise for those looking for A Little Less Conversation (and a little more Elvis action).

Elvis may be gone but his spirit lives on through thousands of impersonators who perform his music with the style and even the sound of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s most significant artist. On board the Braemar, guests will be treated to two of the industry’s finest Elvis tribute acts. Multi-talented musician Ben Portsmouth was crowned “Worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist” in 2012, making him the first and only act from outside the United States to hold the title. He’ll be joined by Ben Thompson, 2013 winner of Europe’s Ultimate Elvis Contest. These performers will get guests All Shook Up on board to the highlights of Elvis’ musical career.

While Aarhus may appear to be the most natural destinations for Elvis fans, Denmark’s second largest city has some strong connections to the kind. Aarhus, as well as being a beautiful destination in itself, is home to Graceland Randers, a replica of Elvis’ iconic mansion Graceland in Memphis Tennessee.  It features a range of authentic Elvis memorabilia including instruments, outfits and rare vinyl. There’s also a 1950s-style diner which serves up Elvis’ favourite foods. Guest will also be treated to a concert from Denmark’s top Elvis impersonator, Henrik Busborg.

The Braemar features far better accommodation than the Heartbreak Hotel with 21 types of cabin, each of which has a flat screen TV, ensuite baths and showers, a selection of teas and coffees and most importantly a comfortable bed, so it doesn’t even matter If You Talk In Your Sleep. There’s also a spa and fitness centre, the Neptune Show Lounge, a number of bars, and the Coral Club where you can the boat with dancing late into the night.
