It’s more fun in the Philippines. This is the sign that welcomes you at Manila airport and there is no better phrase to describe this beautiful, diverse country.
The Philippines has so much to offer and it really is one of my favourite destinations in Asia.
The Country is relatively small and is made up of 7107 individual islands all with their own unique character.
The capital, Manila is a high-speed, booming Asian metropolis boasting some of the best shops in Asia. Here you will find the SM Megamall which is the 7th biggest shopping mall in the world. So if shopping is your thing, you must head there to grab a bargain or two.
My personal favourite area of Manila is Makati, this is a modern development packed with luxury hotels and offers brilliant nightlife. The Greenbelt shopping area is a popular hangout for families with a large range of family friendly restaurants. The British pound goes a long way in the Philippines. Eating out is very reasonable and choice is fantastic. Manila is also home to the world’s oldest Chinatown, with a huge Chinese population, hundreds of eateries and shops. Don’t miss the brightly decorated fire engines, with unique Chinese advertising.
All visitors must experience a real Jeepney ride to get around. This is an iconic symbol of the Philippines, attracting locals and tourists alike due to the vibrant colours and decorations.
San Agustin Church is the oldest standing church in the Philippines. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and tours are available daily.
Rizal Parks is one of the largest parks in Asia, it really is beautiful.
