Britain has dominated this week’s cruise news with announcements from P&O and Celebrity.

P&O’s Britannia to take part in a food fight

The Britannia will be the stage for the new UKTV show, ‘Food Heroes’, where ten contestants will prepare a meal for the Captain and his guests, and have their creations judged by Marco Pierre White.

The competition will take place over two of P&O’s Mediterranean itineraries, each having 5 contestants who will put their culinary skills to the test, and might even incorporate the local foods into their recipes. The names of some of the contestants might ring some bells with the likes of Alex James (Blur), Keith Duffy (Boyzone) and John Partridge (Christian Clarke in EastEnders).
