This week, a lot of the focus has been on the Norwegian Escape because it landed on UK shores however as exciting as that was, there have been other news stories that have caught our eye and we're going to share them with you!
Carnival Vista - ‘Behind the Scenes’ Series
The soon-to-be newest ship in the Carnival Cruises fleet, the Carnival Vista, is now closer to being floated out than ever. To ensure that they fill you with excitement about the ship, Carnival have released a series of behind the scenes videos onto their YouTube channel. It is definitely an interesting idea as you get to see how the ship is taking shape over the months. Your host, Peter Gonzalez, is your guide through the construction of the Vista and asks the questions that you want to know the answers to.
More to come.
Norwegian Epic Receives a Facelift
With all of the focus and attention on the newest addition to the Norwegian fleet, the Escape, it is easy to forget about the (previously) largest ship in the fleet, the Epic. After a brief hiatus, the Epic is back and with improvements! Known for giving their guests freedom and flexibility, Norwegian have spruced up the choice of entertainment as well as revamping the dining so on the outside it looks like the same ship, but previous Epic cruisers will be pleasantly surprised by the new interior.
The addition of a new broadway show, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, is definitely good news for those who like a good musical production, and it’s a good one at that winning multiple Tony awards. Another new addition is a venue that is perfect for music lovers and should be dear to a Beatles’ fan’s heart, the Cavern Club, a replica venue of where they found their fame.
All of these additions make the Norwegian Epic like a brand new ship, so if you have cruised on the Epic before, maybe it is time for a revisit!
The Queen Mary 2 is to Undergo a £Million Refurb
Whilst Norwegian Cruise Line is going for the more modernised approach, Cunard are designing their new cabins using a throwback approach to the original Queen Mary in a new million pound refurbishment.
The refurb will take place over 25 day in May of next year, and will see a rise in the number of kennels, solo cabins, dining options and more. As it stands, the QM2 is already the largest ship in the Cunard fleet in terms of passenger carrying capabilities, and this refit will only ensure its dominance there.
