Day 1 - Auckland

Virtually surrounded by water, Auckland is known as ‘The City of Sails' with good reason. Opt to see the city from above with a visit to its Sky Tower, complete with a revolving restaurant! Sail on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour for a taste of its yachting culture. Or head for the natural beauty of Rotorua. A different world completely, here you will find boiling mud pools, spouting geysers and hot springs. A highlight of New Zealand not to be missed!

The Bay of Islands region is New Zealand’s finest maritime park and comprises 144 islands and myriad bays and beaches around the coastline. The Bay, with its subtropical climate and pristine natural environment, has an abundance of marine life, including the big marlin, whales, penguins, dolphins, gannets and many other species. And although it’s an aquatic playground for adventure activities and escapist relaxation, much of Northlands extensive coastline remains unspoilt.

Striking architecture, both old and new, distinguishes New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, which sits on the shores of a beautiful harbour surrounded by a natural amphitheatre of wooded hills. Take a cable car ride to Kelburn for sweeping views of the city and enjoy a stroll back down through the Botanical Gardens. For those of you who are feeling energetic, stretch your legs with a climb to the top of Mount Victoria, for a 360-degree panorama of Wellington.

Admire valuable collections at the public Art Gallery, stroll around the Botanical Gardens and visit New Zealand's only true castle ‘Larnach Castle'. Surrounded by eco-tourism and offering views of towering mountains and native forest you'll find plenty of rare wild life here.

Welcome to Queensland's State Capital. With its subtropical climate and location just an hour from Australia's revered Gold Coast, Brisbane is ideally situated for exploring nearby attractions. Take a trip to Mount Coot-tha, the city's highest point, for a bird's eye view of its soaring skyscrapers. Stroll its leafy Botanical Gardens and tour its Cultural Centre. Venture out of the city to the vineyards of the Gold Coast Hinterland. Or even into the Aussie bush or rainforest for a look at Australia's wildlife and open spaces. Brisbane is a great base from which to explore.
