Eastern Caribbean from Boston
|Cruise Only||Fly Cruise|
One of the great things about Boston is that it’s so walkable. So whether you’re into history and want to stroll the Freedom Trail past some of the city’s most notable sights, shopping, art galleries or visiting the fantastic New England Aquarium, it’s all just moments away. Why not come aboard the replica Boston Tea Party ship, or for something stronger that famous TV bar, Cheers!

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
Mention the island of St. Thomas and, chances are, shopping comes to mind, as the former warehouses along the waterfront of Charlotte Amalie are packed with duty-free luxury goods. And if retail therapy’s not your thing, chill on beautiful beaches like Magen’s Bay, escape to the neighbouring island of St. John, or why not take a trial scuba diving lesson – it’s great fun.

Philipsburg, St Maarten
There's no formal border between Dutch St. Maarten and French St. Martin. No split personality, either. Just hypothetical line in the sand and beautiful Mullet Bay. On the Dutch side is a casino and shops and on the French, Charming cafes and high-fashion boutiques.

Although St. Kitts might be diminutive in size – just 68 square miles – it makes up for it in beauty. There are unspoilt beaches of white or soft black volcanic sand, spectacular mountains with forests, waterfalls and brilliant tropical flowers, and close to the busy little capital, Basseterre, the impressive site of Brimstone Hill Fortress, standing some 700 feet above the Caribbean Sea.

Most people here head straight for the great bays and beaches and no wonder – the white sands and crystal-clear waters are just made for lazy days in the sun. You can go swimming with dolphins, deep sea fishing (it’s a BVI obsession) and, on land, hike through Sage Mountain National Park, through forests of tropical hardwoods and exotic orchids.

Old San Juan has quaint cobblestone streets, colonial Spanish architecture and old El Morro, a 16th-century fortress with arabesque towers. In contrast, New San Juan glitters with opulent resorts and casinos. And if you've been there and done that, do this: head for El Yunque rainforest, whose forested mountains are laced with hiking trails.
