Day 1 - Bridgetown

Arrive: Thu 04 January 2018 / Depart: Thu 04 January 2018

An island that blends the exotic mood of the Caribbean with a hint of home (it was British for over 350 years). Here rum punch and calypso meet afternoon tea and cricket in perfect harmony, and Bridgetown's Trafalgar Square is older than our own. With over 30 miles of beaches, 3, 000 hours of sunshine a year, welcoming ‘Bajan' smiles, excellent shopping in the port and flying fish for lunch, Barbados is for many British visitors the quintessential Caribbean island!

Day 2 - Castries

Arrive: Fri 05 January 2018 / Depart: Fri 05 January 2018

What St Lucia's little capital may lack in sophistication it more than compensates for in its colourful Creole mood. Wander amid the lively street market before exploring this most scenic of the Caribbean islands, whose green mountains are draped in lush vegetation, and whose landmarks include the twin peaks of the Pitons rising sheer from the sea, and the steaming sulphur springs of the ‘drive-in' La Soufriere volcano.

Day 2 - Cruising by Pitons

Day 3 - St Georges, Grenada

Arrive: Sat 06 January 2018 / Depart: Sat 06 January 2018

Grenada is the ‘Spice Island' of cinnamon, nutmeg, mace and vanilla plantations, dense with lush rainforests, and was the setting for the film Island in the Sun. St George's must surely be the Caribbean's prettiest capital, almost Mediterranean-looking with its picturesque buildings (some dating from the 18th century), steep cobbled streets and stepped alleys rising as if part of a terraced amphitheatre set amid the wooded hill slopes that surround the harbour. Lovely Grand Anse beach - within easy reach - is not to be missed.

Day 4 - Cruising Caribbean Sea

Day 5 - Oranjestad, Aruba

Arrive: Mon 08 January 2018 / Depart: Mon 08 January 2018

Step ashore here in the friendly little capital of this former island of the Dutch West Indies and you'll be struck by its intriguing mood of Holland in the Caribbean! Aruba has its own ‘patois' of Papiemento (blending Dutch with Spanish, Portuguese and African origins), the largely flat landscape is edged by the stunning white-sand beach of the -Turquoise Coast -, and seas yielding superb diving.

Day 6 - Cruising Caribbean Sea

Day 7 - Ocho Rios

Arrive: Wed 10 January 2018 / Depart: Wed 10 January 2018

On Jamaica’s famous North Shore, whose palm-shaded beaches hug the coastline beneath the distant Blue Mountains, Ocho Rios probably took its name from ‘Las Chorreras’ or waterfalls. Far inland extend dense forest, exotic home to orchids and hummingbirds, and setting of the spectacular cascades of Dunn’s River Falls and the nearby waters of the Martha Brae.

Day 8 - Santiago

Arrive: Thu 11 January 2018 / Depart: Thu 11 January 2018

Cuba's second city and one-time capital, dating back nearly 500 years, Santiago nestles in a valley of the tumbling Sierra Maestra mountains on the south-east shore. It's home to the island's oldest building, Velasquez' palace, and retains a distinctive Spanish colonial mood, thanks to a charming ensemble of 19th century town-houses and steep streets, blended with a tropical Caribbean charm that is uniquely Cuban. If you prefer your pleasures simpler then some of the island's 300 beaches are within easy reach!

Day 9 - Cruising

Day 10 - Roadtown, Tortola

Arrive: Sat 13 January 2018 / Depart: Sat 13 January 2018

Friendly little Road Town is the capital of Tortola (meaning Turtle Dove), largest of this dazzling archipelago of over 50 beach-fringed islands and cays, where the map is filled with names evoking a buccaneering past when these waters were a favourite haunt of pirates. Return to the present with a visit to Apple Bay's Sugar Mill and try rum drinks that pack a real ‘punch' at Pusser's Company Store.

Day 11 - St. Kitts

Arrive: Sun 14 January 2018 / Depart: Sun 14 January 2018

Adjust to the easygoing pace of St Kitts' dignified little capital, then check out its imposing cathedral before lingering over the purchase of attractive batiks. Ascending past the lush sugar-cane fields to take in the sweeping views from the 17th century Brimstone Hill Fortress - the ‘Gibraltar of the West Indies' whose ramparts recall Anglo-French battles fought here long ago.

Day 12 - St John's, Antigua

Arrive: Mon 15 January 2018 / Depart: Mon 15 January 2018

Whatever rugged Antigua may lack in tropical scenery the island more than makes up for with what are some of the best watersports conditions found anywhere in the Carribbean, and 365 beaches (‘one for each day of the year' say the Antiguans) to enjoys! For many, too, the great bay of stunning English Harbour and historic Nelson's Dockyard (Britain's West Indies naval base now restored to its 18th century prime) will prove a magnet.

Day 13 - Fort de France

Arrive: Tue 16 January 2018 / Depart: Tue 16 January 2018

Martinique's lively, unmistakably French capital is, like the island itself, a flamboyant fusion of Gallic sophistication and Creole exuberance. It was, after all, the birthplace of the Empress Josephine! Its many bistros, restaurants and boutiques will provide temptations in plenty, while to visit St. Pierre, engulfed a century ago by volcanic Mont Pelée, is to recall an epic moment of island history.

Day 14 - Bridgetown

Arrive: Wed 17 January 2018

An island that blends the exotic mood of the Caribbean with a hint of home (it was British for over 350 years). Here rum punch and calypso meet afternoon tea and cricket in perfect harmony, and Bridgetown's Trafalgar Square is older than our own. With over 30 miles of beaches, 3, 000 hours of sunshine a year, welcoming ‘Bajan' smiles, excellent shopping in the port and flying fish for lunch, Barbados is for many British visitors the quintessential Caribbean island!

Day 15 - Bridgetown
