P&O Britannia was named by Her Majesty the Queen on 10th March 2015 and the ship opens a whole new world of cruise opportunities for British travellers.
Britannia is the flagship of the P&O fleet and launches a new generation of ships for P&O Cruises. Her boutique style accommodation is more stylish and comfortable than ever and has more single cabins than any other ship in the fleet. Every Oceanview cabin onboard Britannia also comes complete with a balcony.
She made her inaugural voyage with a trip around the British Isles before embarking upon her Maiden Season with trips to the Norwegian Fjords, the Canary Islands and the Baltic Sea.

Food & Drink on board Britannia
Along with the 13 bars on the ship, there are 13 different dining venues to eat on board Britannia so guests can either stick to their favourite restaurant or experience new flavour sensations every night of the week.
The classic P&O restaurants are in place including the Peninsular and Meridian along with new premium eateries and tempting self-service options. Prestigious chefs including Eric Lanlard, Marco Pierre White and Atul Kochhar have been involved in the creation of menus, providing guests with a reassurance of quality.
Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard is famous in the culinary world for his incredible pastry creations and these are now available on board the Britannia in the Market Café. Guests can enjoy all the treats of a French patisserie including artisan breads, incredible cakes and pastires and fine cheeses all accompanied by an excellent selection of teas and coffees.
The Glass House offers all the best steakhouse fare with meats cooked to perfection, all accompanied by fine wines from around the world selected by award winner wine-expert and columnist Olly Smith.
Enjoy the finest in innovative Indian cuisine in Sindhu from double Michelin starred chef Atul Kocchar. This fabulous menu combines the most sumptuous Indian Spices with the finest British Ingredients in this stylish P&O Signature restaurant.
The Limelight Club is an atmospheric venue where guests can enjoy fine food accompanied by some special guests entertainers.
The Crow’s Nest lounge has been given a stylish makeover but retains its warm and friendly atmosphere. Guests can sample a range of cocktails in the sophisticated and modern Blue Bar. There are four bars on deck, so passengers will always be able to find their perfect spot in the sun.
Java provides an idea space to enjoy a coffee and pastry, either on in the warm lounge or out on the open-air terrace.
The Studio is a multi-purpose space and provides a range of entertainment possibilities. Guests might partake in a game show or just sit back and enjoy a lecture, cookery demonstration, film or a music recital.
The theatre on board the Britannia seats 936 guests and has an LED backdrop, providing a spectacular background high production value shows.
The Crystal Room epitomises the glamour of cruising with classic features, sparkling chandeliers and a spacious dance floor where guests can move to the live music.
The Live Lounge plays host to singers, comedians and live bands before transforming into a night club later after the entertainers leave the stage.

The Cookery Club is a new addition to the P&O cruising experience. Guests can learn culinary skills from expert chefs including James Martin, Paul Rankin, James Tanner and Theo Randall.
There are plenty of places to keep active on board with classes available and the Arena where guests can play cricket, football and short tennis. With four pools on deck, there’s space for everyone to swim. The main pool is perfect for families while teenagers have their own dedicated sundeck with pool included.
The Retreat is an adults-only alfresco spa and the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy a range of treatments or perhaps just appreciate the tranquillity of life on board ship.
Guests can keep up with all the activities on offer with Horizon; the ship’s on board magazine delivered direct to every cabin on board.

We were honoured to be a part of the glittering Naming Ceremony of
P&O’s much anticipated new superliner Britannia. The largest ship
designed specifically for the British holiday-maker, Britannia has a whole
host of incredible facilities on board including 13 bars, 13 places to eat,
a 936-seater theatre and four swimming pools.

Britannia Handover, 22nd February 2015
CruiseKings Head of Cruise, Leigh Collis was lucky enough to join P&O at
the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy for the Official Handover
Ceremony on Sunday 22nd February prior to the big UK launch!
