There are 28 dining rooms on board the Norwegian Getaway with a great variety of complimentary options available. Guests are offered Freestyle dining meaning that there are no assigned times or dining but guests can make reservations to ensure they can dine in their restaurant of choice.
The three main restaurants are Savor, Taste and the Tropicana Room which each over an ever changing menu with a range of classic and modern dishes to suit every taste. With the NCL ideology offering choice there are a number of complimentary options available.
O‘Sheehan’s has a relaxing Irish pub atmosphere and serves a range of American comfort food classics dishes such as prime rib and lobster along with live sports on the big screen TV.
The Garden Café offers stunning views with floor-to-ceiling windows and serves a fantastic range of buffet foods with omelettes, pasta, freshly prepared meats and international favourites all available.
There are plenty of speciality restaurants on board. Cagney’s is a high end American-style steakhouse serving a range of choice cuts of beef. La Cucina offers freshly prepared Italian delights along with a fine selection of wines. Le Bistro offers signature French dining in this tastefully decorated restaurant. Moderno is a Brazilian steakhouse and offers slow cooked chicken, lamb, pork and beef. For the finest Seafood then guests should dine at Ocean Blue which features a menu created by Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian.
With seats for 800 people, there are dazzling shows on display in the Getaway Theatre. Here guests can enjoy Legally Blonde, the smash hit Broadway musical based on the Reese Witherspoon film. On alternate nights guests can enjoy the spectacular Burn the Floor which chronicles the history of dance while giving examples in the form of stunning choreography.
The Grammy Experience functions as a museum during the day and in the evening hosts live jazz and R&B performances from Grammy Award winners and nominee.
There’s more musical magic available in Headliners lounge as talented pianists take guests requests with a twist in this incredible duelling piano show which runs late into the night.
Headliners also serves as the ship’s comedy venue with some of Levity Entertainment Group’s top performers providing the laughs for 12 shows a week.
The Getaway Casino on Deck 7 is vast and features a host of machines and all the favourite table games including poker, roulette, blackjack and craps.
The Aqua Park is one of the biggest water-based playgrounds at sea and features five waterslides, four hot tubs, two pools and a children’s splash pool themed around Spongebob Squarepants.
The Sports Complex provides three stories of active entertainment. This includes all the expected cruise-ship sporting spaces like a basketball court, and mini-golf course alongside some innovative feature. There’s a huge pirate-themed ropes course with more than 40 elements including The Plank – a platform that extends over the edge of the ship. Those with a head for heights can try out the Spider Web, an enclosed climbing cage, or for gentler thrills there’s a bungee trampoline.
If that’s not enough then there’s a range of weight and cardio equipment to help passengers work up a sweat in the Fitness Centre.
In the Day Spa there are plenty of rejuvenating treatments available including oxygen facials, acupuncture and massages and also includes the tranquil space, the Relaxation Lounge to unwind away from it all. There’s also a Salon which provides all of the usual beauty treatments.
