Day 1 - Palma

If you like beaches, cafes or simply lazing around in the sunshine, you'll love Palma, together with the nearby resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf. Before you relax, though, make sure you visit Palma City itself to see the Moorish palace, the designer stores and the quaint shops and cobbled streets of the old city, behind the Gothic Cathedral. And for souvenirs, make a bee-line for Inca, the largest street market on the island which opens every Thursday.

The chequered history of the capital of Sicily is the key to its beauty, its fascinating sights and its endless charm. Palermo offers every visitor something to see. Add theatres, lush gardens and glorious views and this is the place to relax as well as explore. And if you can, visit Monreale. High in the hills with a wonderful panoramic view over the Gulf of Palermo, its cathedral reveals exquisite mosaics depicting stories from the bible.

Day 4 - Naples

This is the most spectacular natural setting in Italy. With its beautiful bay overlooked by Mount Vesuvius, a sunny climate and lots to see, Naples is unmissable. A stroll through the narrow streets and hustle and bustle of the local markets that sell literally everything is an experience in itself in Naples. That's before you discover the memorable sights like the majolica-tiled cloister of the Church of Santa Chiara, the local craftsmen of San Gregorio Armeno who make the famous Neapolitan crèche figures, or the Galleria Umberto where designer shops sit amidst glorious architecture. Don't forget to take the chairlift up to Mount Vesuvius itself or the tour to Pompeii and the ancient ruins of Herculaneum. And why not take the short boat ride to the picturesque and exclusive island of Capri?

The breathtaking sight when you sail into Ajaccio, with the crystal blue waters contrasting with the green of the beautiful countryside, is just the introduction to Ajaccio. Boasting Corsican architecture as well as a famous military leader, the town features a fascinating blend of French and Italian influences.

Day 7 - Palamos

Hundreds of years old, yet now a thriving and modern Spanish port, Palamos gives you a glimpse into the local culture – and the perfect opportunity to relax. On the east coast of Spain, north of Barcelona, Palamos was founded around a natural harbour in 1277. The legacy of fishing continues today and the day's catch is still auctioned on the busy quayside in the late afternoon, giving you the chance to see traditional fishing the Spanish way. That's if you can spare the time from relaxing on the superb beach or taking a tour to Figueres, the famous city where Dali was born and lived until his death in 1989.

Having two ships means you’re able to pair a wider choice of itineraries with the exciting features offered by this larger, more contemporary style of vessel. These include an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, an indoor pool and a glossy atrium. Not to mention the range of bars, excellent dining scene and night-time shows enhanced by up-to-the-minute technology. Just like Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is All Inclusive as standard. So, drinks, including prosecco and cider, meals in a selection of restaurants and most onboard activities are included in the cruise price. Flights and tips are both part of the package, too.

You’ll get twin beds that convert to a queen-size double bed and an en suite with a WC and a shower. Deck 2/3 Inside Cabins cover 12 and 13 m². Our 3 and 4-berth cabins have upper berths that fold down for extra sleeping space.

Single Inside

These are on decks 2 and 3, and accommodate solo travellers. The cabin is kitted out with twin beds that convert to a queen-size double bed and an en suite with a WC and a shower. These cabins measure 12 m².

Single Outside

These are on decks 2 and 3, and accommodate solo travellers. A picture window or porthole offers sea views, and the cabin is kitted out with twin beds that convert to a queen-size double bed, a sitting area with a sofa, and an en suite with a WC and a shower. These cabins measure 14 m².

Standard Balcony

Balcony Cabins are on deck 6, and feature a set of twin beds that can convert to a queen-size double bed. You can also expect a sitting area, an en suite with a WC and a shower, and a balcony. These cabins sleep 2, and are between 13 and 14 m².

Family Junior Suite

This cabin sits on deck 8 and sleeps 6. It’s got one bedroom with twin beds, and a living area with a double sofa-bed and twin beds that convert to a queen-size double bed if needed, as well as an en suite with a WC and a shower. A private balcony with double doors comes as standard. The cabin measures around 39 m².

Royal Suite

The most luxurious cabin on both Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2 measures up at a huge 92m2, and sleeps up to 4. It comes with a separate living room with a sofa-bed, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and an en suite with a WC and a shower. Swish extras come in the form of a baby grand piano and a whirlpool bath. Expect plenty of light courtesy of glass doors that open onto a balcony. You’ll find the Royal Suite on Deck 8.
