The MS Kong Harald was launched in 1993 to mark the centenary of Hurtigruten. The ship is named after the King of Norway and the interior is decorated with the King’s Crown Emblem.
Kong Harald sails the Norwegian coast all year around travelling from Bergen to Kirkenes.
Although the ship is named after the King, it also pays tribute to other significant Norwegians with the café named after polar explorer Roald Amundsen and the bar bearing the name of the celebrated explorer, scientist and diplomat Fridtjof Nansen. These Nordic pioneers both feature prominently in the colourful décor of the ship.
The restaurant seats 240 passengers with breakfast and lunch served in a buffet style while dinner is a three course meal with reserved seating.
On board guests can find a small but well equipped fitness centre and a couple of saunas to help guests relax. There is also a card room, library and souvenir shop and comfortable lounges.
