The MS Nordlys is the sister ship to the MS King Harald and MS Richard With. It operates an express service along the Norwegian coast stopping at more than 30 ports on a 12 day round trip. This is a multipurpose ship which acts as a cargo ship, passenger ferry and cruise liner.
MS Nordlys is named after the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. It’s an appropriate title as guests sailing the Norwegian coast in winter will be able to experience this natural wonder when solar winds produce this stunning multi-coloured light show.
While this treat might not be available in summer, guests can enjoy the perpetual daylight in the land of the midnight sun. This makes it the perfect time to experience the wildlife in the Arctic Circle as the ship embarks on an excursion to see the majestic sea eagle or embarks on a whale watching safari.
In the ships restaurant, buffets are served for breakfast and lunch with Norwegian specialities provided on the set menu for dinner. There are plenty of public spaces for guests to socialise with great views of the Norwegian landscape to be seen in the Panorama Lounge.
