Indian Ocean Cruises

Indian Ocean cruises sail along the coasts of Arabia, Sri Lanka, India and on to Singapore. Certain cruises also explore the coral atolls of the Maldives and Seychelles. The sheer size of the region means there will be many relaxing days on board and on land learning about the culture surrounding Asian countries.

Arabia and India

Most cruises in the region are passing through on repositioning or world cruises. It is possible for cruisers to join ships at an Egyptian or Mediterranean port which will then sail through the Red Sea along the coast of Arabia. Calling points on this cruise include Salalah or Muscat in Oman, or modern Dubai in the Persian Gulf, then down the west coast of India to Mumbai. From Mumbai these Indian cruises continue south to the canals & lagoons of Cochin, the beaches of Goa to Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka India East

After visiting the tea plantations and Elephant Orphanages of Sri Lanka, certain cruises continue around the coast of India to Madras and the Dravidian temples. Other cruises sail towards the south east Indian Ocean to the west coast of Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore there is also the possibility of the cruises calling at the Andaman Islands (great snorkelling) on the way.

Maldives and Seychelles

A few cruises will sail from Indian ports out to around 2000 coral islands of the Maldives and back again. Many of these cruises are world voyages on their way to South Africa; these cruises will also call at the Maldives and Seychelles on the way. Most cruises to the Seychelles will depart from or return to East African ports like Mombasa and visit Madagascar and perhaps Mauritius or Reunion en route.
