I’ve been part of the team here at CruiseKings since May 2021, fresh out of university, where I achieved a First Class honours in International Marketing. I knew from the get-go that I wanted to be involved in Marketing in some capacity (after I failed in football), so when the opportunity to throw myself into the world of travel came about… it was more than ideal.
When I began this role, I had next to no experience… which in a way was a blessing in disguise. It gave me a real opportunity to soak up as many different positions within our team as possible and really fine-tune my craft. From social media, emails, stats and campaigns – I’ve dabbled in it all. However, my career really took off when I got involved in direct mail, as it gave me the chance to get creative in much more depth and detail. From here, my passion for copy snowballed and has since become the main focal point of my workload.
Nowadays, I tell our team's story by overseeing the production side of our educational trip opportunities and managing user-generated content from our valued clients... (I’m the guy pestering everyone for photos and quotes)! The best part of this role is that I get to bring stories to life and inspire others along the way… apparently, this is what I’m best at. You’ll find these stories on our site, in our emails, throughout our mailers and across our socials too!
I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to see lots of different places during my time here. Whether it's cruises from Barcelona on board Norwegian Epic, to action-packed journeys through Pisa, Nice and Monte Carlo with Azamara Cruises – the opportunities for travel here are great! I recently uncovered Amsterdam and Bruges on the fun-filled Scarlet Lady with Virgin Voyages – certainly an eye opener as to what ‘lively’ cruising truly means! I’m most excited, however, for my upcoming trip to Canada to experience the iconic Rockies Summer Premium Tour – genuine bucket list stuff.
Outside of work, I love spending time with dogs, and I do all I can to stay active – whether that be at the gym, playing football, or trying new activities. There’s a running joke in our Marketing team that I always find new ways to break bones, with the most recent being my collarbone. The ‘highlight break’, however, was both my wrists on a skiing holiday in Austria… a rough few months to say the least.

Nothing new here, simply Excellent knowledge and service
My experience is with Alana McEwen at Scotlands Cruise Centre who are part of cruise kings and is always excellent. We have booked so many cruises with them and I always feel that she instinctively knows what I need in my bookings. Our bookings are always a complete package covering flights, transfers, hotels and of course the cruise. Thanks you Alana.
