Carnival will return to European waters for the first time in three years with the launch of Carnival Vista on 1st May 2016 when it sets sail on a 13-day maiden-voyage cruise departing from Trieste, Italy. After this the ship will take in a variety of destinations throughout the Mediterranean calling in at ports throughout Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Greece, Sardinia and Gibraltar. The ship will remain in Europe until October when it repositions to New York.
The 133,500 ton vessel will be the largest ship in the fleet carrying 3,939 passengers at double occupancy and will perfectly embody Carnival’s philosophy of fun cruising with a range of innovative new features.
New outdoor activities
As the biggest ship in the fleet, there’s space for even more exciting features. SkyRide is the first pedal-powered aerial attraction at sea where riders negotiate an 800-foot suspended track that sits 150-feet above sea level. The SkyRide can be found in the outdoor activity park which also includes a huge ropes course and new indoor sports space, The Clubhouse at SportsSquare which includes ping-pong tables, arcade basketball and a selection of sports-based video games.
There’s also plenty to get excited about at the pool with the Kaleid-O-Slide, a 455-foot water tube ride which spirals around the pool area.
There’s so much to see in the Carnival Multiplex to bring passengers the first ever IMAX Theatre on a cruise ship. Visitors will be able to enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbusters on a screen that’s the height of three decks. Next door, passengers can enjoy spectacular special effects and a full sensory experience at the Thrill Theatre. For some action on smaller screens there are plenty of arcade machines located within the The Warehouse.
More bars and restaurants
Vista features a number of new venues where guests can enjoy fresh food and drink options. The Redfrog Pub is offers fantastic beers which are brewed on site in two giant copper-topped kettles with taps at the table allowing guests to pour their own beer at their table. The Havana Bar offers a taste of Cuba and serves snacks and traditional cocktails accompanied by rhythmic Latin music. The Seafood Shack is a new casual dining venue offering the finest treats from the ocean including lobster, shrimp, crab cakes, and so much more.
Further choice of accommodation
There are two new accommodation classes on board Carnival Vista. Havana Cabanas offer excellent sea views with private outdoor patios complete with a hammock and lounge chairs. The Family Harbour Suites can accommodate up to five family members and come with the option of balcony, ocean-view or interior. There’s also a Family Harbour Lounge where adults and children can spend time and enjoy snacks and entertainment on the big screen TV.
