Find Your Perfect Cruise

What are the payment options on board a cruise ship?

Payment options on board vary depending on the cruise line, however all of the cruise lines operate a ‘cash free’ environment on board the ship.

All cruise ships operate a ‘cash free’ system using an onboard spending account which is settled at the end of your cruise. When embarking and checking in at Guest Services they will issue you with a multi-purpose ‘Seapass Card’ or Sail & Sign card (also known by other names depending on the cruise line).

This is a credit card-sized card that you need to use on board the ship to make purchases for drinks, services, and other facilities. This card also doubles as your stateroom key and identification for boarding and disembarking the ship in each port.

This card is the only way to make purchases whilst on the ship so you don't want to lose it.  If you do lose it, be sure to report it immediately to Guest Relations and they will issue you with a new one.  You should treat this card like you would a credit card or your passport and keep it in a safe place.

Before travelling on your chosen cruise holiday there are ways that you can try to lower your final bill at the end of the cruise. For example you may wish to pre-pay your gratuities, shore excursions, speciality dining or spa treatments which will enable you to budget for your onboard spending.

Each cruise line has different policies when it comes to securing and paying your bill at the end of your cruise. The easiest and preferred method of payment would be by credit card, however it is possible to pay in cash with some cruise lines.

Cruisekings booking

After initially sending an enquiry form, I was contacted by Carmel. It was quite a complex booking and Carmel helped me all the way through it, checking details and advising me. I thank her for her patience and professionalism throughout

Good service

Really good service. Discussed where and when I wanted to cruise and received a number of available cruises that suited. I’m a first time cruiser and spent hours online trying to find a cruise. Cruise Kings were very helpful and efficient, I would definitely use Cruise Kings again for any future bookings.
