Nassau is the vibrant capital of the Bahamas, which brims with colonial architecture and historic buildings such as Vendue House, the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral, and the Nassau Public Library. Perhaps climb the sandstone cliffs via Queen's Staircase, explore the tunnels of Fort Charlotte, or swim with exotic marine life in the shimmering turquoise waters.

Day 4 - Amber Cove, Dominican Republic

Arrive: Sun 31 January 2027 / Depart: Sun 31 January 2027

Amber Cove is close to Puerto Plata on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. From here you can enjoy a drink at the Brugal Rum factory or the 16th-century San Felipe Fort, built to repel pirates. The natural scenery a little further inland is wonderful for hiking and mountain-biking, while the coastline has a reputation for excellent watersports, thanks to its predictable natural breezes.

Day 5 - Grand Turk

Arrive: Mon 01 February 2027 / Depart: Mon 01 February 2027

Forming a British Overseas Territory, this archipelago consists of around 40 low-lying islands southeast of the Bahamas. Grand Turk is the second most populated, even at scarcely seven square miles. The oldest known residents were the Arawak-speaking Taino people, and it is believed they traded salt which formed naturally when the sea water entered shallow inland ponds and evaporated in the sun. Indeed British colonists from Bermuda arrived in the late seventeenth century to collect the salt, and they modified the system. There’s still plenty of evidence of the low stone walls used to compartment off the salt pans across the islands, not least at the Salt House museum next to Town Salina.

Little San Salvador Island, also called Half Moon Cay, is a tiny private island in the Bahamas. Accessible by cruise ship, it's known for the long, crescent-shaped Half Moon Beach. Luxury cabanas dot the beachfront, which gives way to trail-lined country rich in birdlife. Half Moon Lagoon Aqua Park has water slides and playgrounds.
