Day 1 - Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.

Day 2 - Montevideo

Founded by the Spanish in 1726 at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata, Uruguay’s capital is a thriving commercial centre and pleasant seaside resort. Once fortified, the town has retained its colonial charm which you will discover in the Ciudad Vieja old district, the colonnades of Plaza Independencia and Plaza Constitucion, the oldest in Montevideo to retain an image of its distinguished past.

Day 3 - Punta del Este

There is a very good reason why Punta del Este (Uruguay) is renowned as one of the most famous seaside resorts in Uruguay and South America. Sophisticated and wonderfully chic, Punta del Este blends in seamlessly with the beauty of the scenery and harbours some magnificent russet coloured sandy beaches. Several kilometres offshore lies “sea bass island”, one of the world’s most important reserves for sea bass and home to around 200,000 specimens which have found refuge in this little paradise.

Capital of Panama, Curitiba is a small colonial town nestled at the foot of the Serra do Mar chain of mountains. Founded in the 17th century, the town thrived under the first European colonialists who became prosperous by running the many rubber plantations. The Serra Verde Express train is well worth taking, as it winds its away along the rugged slopes of a mountain overlooking vertiginous canyons and vast tropical plains, before reaching an equatorial forest that is as deep as it is mysterious.

Day 8 - Ilhabela

Ilhabela is an archipelago off the southeast coast of Brazil. The main island, Ilha de São Sebastião, is known for beaches like Castelhanos, Curral and Jabaquara. On the island's west coast, Ilhabela city is home to the white-and-blue Nossa Senhora d’Ajuda church. In vast, forested Ilhabela State Park, trails lead to Gato and Água Branca waterfalls. Offshore dive sites include the Aymoré and Velasquez shipwrecks.

Day 9 - Parati

Paraty (Brazil) is a symbol and architectural gem from the colonial era, a historic town offering one of the most harmonious ensembles of buildings in Brazil. Founded in 1660, the small enclave quickly prospered after a number of gold deposits were discovered in the vicinity. Later sugar cane and the coffee boom kept the city alive preserving its architectural treasures. Located along the limpid blue waters of a large bay with numerous beaches, Paraty’s idyllic situation combined with the restoration of many of its monuments earned the town UNESCO World Heritage site status in 1966.
