Mantes-la-Jolie is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region of north-central France. It is located to the west of Paris, 48.4 km from the centre of the capital. Mantes-la-Jolie is a subprefecture; in 2016, it had a population of 44,231.

Rouen, capital of the northern French region of Normandy, is a port city on the river Seine.
